the gardens . . . . .

Bleak House once had a significant amount of land associated with the main house. There was of course stables ,several other buildings and gardens.

The gardens remain as an important part of the property and have been nurtured by Sue and John over the years.

A feature of the main garden is the cast bronze fountain depicting maidens and small children at their feet. Whilst the fountain creates a striking visual feature in the garden it also generates a soothing sound of splashing water as it falls to the pond below.

In amoungst the water plants and lillies you will catch glimpses of the Koi that look forward to their regular afternoon feed from John.

Roses in a range of hues are dotted throughout the gardens and in spring provide a beautiful display.

This healthy cumquot is heavily laden with fruit in spring and often finds it way into locally produced jams and condiments.

The house verandah is home to a number of colourful and interesting varieties, and offers a convient resting spot for weary gardeners or guests that seek out a quiet retreat.

We invite you to visit the gardens yourself....
